He will tell us about why and how to organize and what is the importance of cooperation amongst authors, above all with the AI challenges for the media.
10:00 – 12:00 : CMOs Success Stories
Different CMOs will share their success stories in fostering AV translators’ authors’ rights. First, they will briefly talk about their philosophy and collection process, and we will later discuss the differences in their workflows, as well as the different national legislations with which they comply.

We will be presenting the map of authors’ rights in Europe to highlight the differences within AVTE’s member countries. We will then have a discussion about the most challenging idiosyncrasies and how that affects the working conditions of each place.

The European Union Intellectual Property Office and the Directorate-General for Translation will debate with intellectual property rights lawyers and professional author unions about what the future of IP Rights might be. The reality of our industry is moving at an unprecedented pace, therefore it is of the utmost importance to keep up to date with European lawmaking and initiatives.

In this panel we will discuss the ramifications of the rise of artificial intelligence in our industry from different perspectives. Politicians, CMO representatives, unions, and spokespeople from professional organizations will gather and ponder over the potential implications of the applicability of artificial intelligence in screenwriting and audiovisual translation.
